The Jalandhar District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has recently exonerated an obstetrician & gynecologist, fertility specialist and a senior consultant in gastroenterology hepatology & endoscopy, who was alleged by a couple for medical negligence and mistreatment of endometriosis. Case history A couple (the complainant) had been facing problems conceiving a baby for two years and hence scheduled a physical checkup. A treating doctor detected the presence of cysts in the ovaries of the female patient after whole-body examination and recommended surgical removal. Another doctor at the hospital assured the couple that surgery would improve the probability of conception.
