I was preparing for a talk on Noble Laureates in medicine at an invitation. Be it discovery of DNA,be it insulin discovery,stem cell transplantation,cellular immunity,I could see decades and decades of total dedication from these researchers,doctors in some cases to find a cure. Then my mind asked me, why is that we do not have a single Indian name in this list?.The last was Harbind Khurana but he did his research in the USA.Yellappagrada Subba Rao a brilliant scientist who discovered many firsts did everything in the USA. Mind you Charaka, Sushrutha did long ago research and innovation no Noble prize could match it.
But our glory has been stuck up in the past.I haven't seen one single landmark original paper from India in any top notch journals. I see Chinese picked up big time in research and publications. Any big European or American conferences, you see young chinese holding rolled…
