The World Health Organization (WHO) is going to launch a new pilot campaign in India on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day to be observed on July 28. The campaign will also be launched in Egypt and Uganda this year, said WHO. According to WHO, this year, World Hepatitis Day is going to be observed to combat hepatitis which affects over two million people globally through the use of unsafe injections which had been leading to rise in the deaths due to liver cancer mainly caused by unsafe injections.
UN News Center quoting Dr Edward Kelley, WHO's Director of Service Delivery and Safety in Geneva informed, "Egypt, Uganda and India are three of the flagship countries that will be taking on the first steps on this campaign."
