One would expect that because doctors are intelligent and hard-working, most would become quite wealthy after a few years. Unfortunately, I find that while most of them are financially well off, they're definitely not rich by any standards. This is surprising because their school friends who pursued alternative career paths are doing much better than them. In fact, the more successful ones will have a net worth which is ten times to a hundred times the doctor's, even though both have been working equally hard for the same number of years.
Even though doctors think they're very intelligent, the reality is they don't manage their money well at all.
