Why Should Healthcare Workers Get Vaccinated?

Introduction As per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the healthcare workers have been prioritized to receive the COVID-19 vaccination during the first phase of the immunization drive. More than 40 lakh healthcare workers have been inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine so far. This article highlights the importance of COVID-19 vaccination for healthcare workers.

Categorization of health care workers for COVID-19 vaccination In the Phase-1 of the vaccination program, healthcare workers were prioritized to receive the vaccine. They were categorized as shown in Figure 1.
