PCOS is the commonest endocrinopathy and the commonest cause of Anovulation in the Reproductive aged women. Though several theories have been proposed, abnormal weight gain seems to be the precipitating, predisposing or the principal cause of PCOS.1 Stein and Leventhal, in 1935, in the era before the endocrine pathophysiology of the condition was known, felt that the ovaries were the site of pathology and proposed wedge resection. 50 years later, in 1985, the same procedure was carried out by burning the ovaries with electro cautery, Nd Yag laser or carbon dioxide laser.
