It is a perpetual debate that whether a doctor should treat himself or herself? Next comes, whether we should treat our immediate and close relatives? Is it forbidden anywhere legally! Can a Surgeon operate on himself under LA and if the part to be operated upon is approachable? I know of a Surgeon who decided to try his knife on himself for Vasectomy.
Unfortunately, he could not complete and requested for help midway due to dizziness and tremors of his hands! Legally or ethically speaking, can a Surgeon operate on himself or herself, if he or she is confident and desires so? Do you know of any such case?
