Government is after doctors to prescribe generic drugs. Now a new law is in pipeline for pharmaceuticals for labelling of generic drugs two font size larger than branded drugs. Non compliance will lead to stringent punishment. Will it be helpful in any way? My view is the price regulation of generic drugs is more important.
The cost of generic drugs manufactured by different pharmaceuticals needed to be brought at par so that the choice lie with chemist is avoided. However, FDCs with vitamins and other drugs Will not come in this law. What is your opinion? Kindly share.
