According to outcomes of the Eightieth United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), world leaders have adopted a landmark political declaration committing to a fully integrated approach to preventing and controlling noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) while promoting mental health and well-being. The declaration, endorsed ahead of the fourth UNGA High-Level Meeting on NCDs and mental health held on 25 September 2025, represents the first time these challenges have been addressed together in a single global political framework.
