Globocan 2020 data shows, over 5% of cancer cases are lung cancers, constituting about 7.8% cancer deaths. A study presents startling facts that the Indian ethnicity population has a higher epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation frequency of 23%, while that of Caucasian ethnicity is 10-15%. Further concern is indicated in Indian ethnicity, as non-smokers are more likely to carry EGFR mutations- 29% over smokers- 15.3%.
