Zika virus pandemic involving whole western hemisphere & potentially threatening to USA is the fourth successor of arboviral group diseases.The other three are dengue in 1990 west Nile in 1999 and chikungunya in 2013.Is there a pattern of successive occurrence of these arboviral diseases or its just a coincidence. It's a matter of research. Arboviruses are RNAvirus which are transmitted by arthropods specially mosquitoes.These viruses runs in complex cycle between vertebrates and their vectors. Until now few of the arboviruses have produced disease in humans including dengue, west nile, chikungunya and yellow fever.
