A 23-year-old man visited the Ludhiana Mediways hospital with a bluish discolouration on his body accompanied by shortness of breath since childhood. As it was initially thought to be a heart problem, no specific treatment was given. It was observed that the patient’s heart scan was normal and thus suspected a lung problem. A CT scan was prescribed to start the correct line of treatment as early as possible. Considering the delicate nature of the surgery and potential threat to the patient’s life, I decided to choose a naïve and unconventional approach using a 3D technique and approached MRL at GNDEC.

Because the condition is referred to as AVM, a rare disease. AVM could suddenly burst and lead to life-threatening bleeding. CT Scan showed malformation to be extremely complex. The arteries and veins had intermixed. As the x-ray and CT scan images were in 2D it didn’t give exact clarity…
