4th year residency made mandatory for promotion to the post of assistant professor in all disciplines. There is no provision of residency in preclinical and paraclinical disciplines. How can we provide them 4th yr SR! This in only possible in some reputed institutes of India. Even gold medalist bright PGs can't be promoted to the post of assistant professor because either they haven't done 4 yrs residency or tutorship forget about studentship without stipend. On inside, they don't get stipend.on the other their teaching experience is not counted.
What is their fault? Absolutely foolish move by MCI. They were all promoted to the post of Dean directly from the post of assistant professor. Which way we are heading to? Why social activists from reputed NGOs are not involved?
