The state of Himachal Pradesh has suspended seven government doctors for their alleged involvement in private practice and willful absence. To stop doctors from government hospitals doing private practice and remaining absent from duty, the state of Himachal Pradesh has launched a drive to identify such doctors and take stringent action against them. About seven doctors working in various hospitals in the state have been placed under suspension.

These barred doctors are not allowed to leave the headquarter without the permission of competent authority. In this regard, the Health and Family Planning Minister of Himachal Pradesh said that, “These doctors were not properly performing their duties and attending the patients, besides they were involved in private practice.Thus, violating services rules.
