A 6-year-old boy presented with a history of a lump in the left upper abdomen for the past month. Investigations Clinical examination revealed a hard mass in the epigastric and left hypochondrium. An ultrasound showed a well-defined intraperitoneal heterogenous lesion measuring 8ร7 cm in size. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography of the abdomen revealed a heterogeneously enhancing mass that extended to the anterior of the pancreas in the lesser sac, abutting posterior wall of the stomach, head, and body of the pancreas. On the right, it touched the first part of the duodenum.
The mass measured 11ร10ร9 cm in size. His serum alpha-fetoprotein level was 1210 ng/mL. An ultrasound-guided trucut biopsy revealed monomorphic tumor cells in trabeculae 2โ3 cells thick separated by sinusoids lined by endothelial cells. The tumor cells were uniform, polyhedral, with a distinct cell membrane,โฆ
