At least a dozen of countries across the four subcontinents have been reported a newly emerged multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogenic fungus in last five years. A global threat of this fungus is questioned because of high fatality rate. The present article attempts to spread awareness about the recent emergence of this fungus in different countries. Candida auris is an emerging fungus that can cause fungemia or candidiasis. It is associated with high mortality percentages and resistant to multiple antifungal drugs. C.
