A 69-year-old man presented to a dermatologist with a 2-month history of a pruritic rash. The rash first appeared on his right wrist and within 2 weeks had spread to his arms, legs, and trunk. He had completed treatment for chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection with a 12-week course of elbasvir and grazoprevir three months before the onset of the purple papular rash.
Some lesions showed a fine reticulate pattern of dots and lines (Wickham’s striae). Skin biopsy revealed hyperkeratosis, wedge-shaped hypergranulosis, sawtooth rete pegs, and bandlike lymphocytic inflammation. *This case is from the Editorial team of Docplexus and is meant for educative purposes only.
