Case presentation A 31-year-old woman with a 10-year history of bipolar disorder was brought to the emergency room 12 hours after intentionally ingesting 200 mg of aripiprazole. She had been taking a prescribed daily dose of 10 mg of aripiprazole for the past six months. On examination, she exhibited coarse hand tremors and muscular dystonia, affecting her neck, face, eyelids, and limbs.
The involuntary tremors intensified with stimulation. She had no other underlying medical conditions.
