Sjögren syndrome (SS) is a common autoimmune condition characterized by widespread systemic and organ-specific symptoms, making the initial diagnosis more challenging. Specialists, such as rheumatologists, primary care doctors, ophthalmologists, and dentists, who would otherwise focus only on those symptoms that encompass their areas of expertise, can obtain a comprehensive image of the presenting patient with the help of the recently refined diagnostic criteria, resulting in earlier identification and treatment of SS.
