Laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal (TEP) inguinal hernia repair is an effective minimally invasive procedure to treat hernias . Since the introduction of TEP inguinal hernia repair, abundant clinical data have become available on laparoscopic inguinal hernia repairs and their outcomes compared to conventional open approaches. Decreased wound complications, faster recovery, and decreased incidence of chronic pain are some of the noticeable advantages that drive surgeons to adopt such novel surgical techniques.
