In private hospitals and Nursing homes, BAMS or DHMS are employed as medical officer in place of MBBS doctors.On one hand, whole profession is against prescribing of modern medicines by Non-MBBS doctors and on other hand, they are being trained in private hospitals. I was asked by some participants to discuss this issue also. My query:- Is it legal?

If no, why hospital regulating authorities are not taking any action to curb this practice? By the way, which agency can take action? Please share.
