In recent decades, the rate of cesarean delivery has increased in developed and developing nations. In this regard, Robson’s classification was introduced to compare and to improve the obstetrics care globally. The article reviews the ten-group classification system proposed in Robson’s criteria and the benefits of adopting this criterion in Indian healthcare system to avoid unnecessary sections for better maternal and neonatal outcomes. “Every effort should be made to provide cesarean sections to women in need rather than striving to achieve a specific rate”-- WHO STATEMENT .
