Alcohol use disorder (AUD) affects millions worldwide and is associated with serious health complications, including alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). It also increases the risk of advanced fibrosis and hospitalizations due to acute alcohol-associated hepatitis. Although medications for AUD (MAUD) and behavioral interventions are effective, they remain significantly underutilized. Racial and ethnic disparities further limit access to evidence-based care.
