A recent study of health insurance claims shows that the patients undergoing 11 of the most common types of surgery were at an increased risk of becoming chronic users of opioid painkillers. Also, use of opioids for anesthetic procedures may increase the risk of addiction.
In such situation, there is a need to find alternatives to opioids for both anesthetic procedures and or pain management. Please suggest few alternatives to opioids for chronic pain management or general anesthetic procedures?
