There are thousands of smaller nursing homes and hospital in Maharashtra, registered with local authorities like Municipal Corporations or Nagar-Parishad.But the empaneled hospitals to RGJAY are very few in numbers. Many taluka places and many District places also do not have 30 or 50 Bedded Hospitals. Because of the Minimum 50 or 30 Beds criteria,these small hospitals are thrown out of this RGJA yojana.Only the larger Hospitals are eligible to run this Yojana.The poor and needy patients have to travel to bigger city hospitals to avail the benefit of RGJA Yojana. For many locally treatable diseases, these poor people have to waste the precious man hours to reach to the bigger hospitals in big cities.
