Although many countries are driving their stop TB strategies, TB still remains a major public health concern, especially in the developing nations. One of the main reasons is multidrug resistance cases and HIV associated TB cases. Current diagnostic tools are costly, time-consuming and cannot predict the multidrug-resistant TB. In this regard, a study was conducted to determine the sensitivity and specificity of the new TB diagnostic assay. This study was undertaken in one of the healthcare centers in India as well.
