Around 20-30% of diarrhea incidents occur due to C difficile infection (CDI) in the hospital environment. Although there are multiple factors associated with CDI, antibiotics are one of the prominent underlying factors. In this regard, it is necessary to understand which antibiotics are associated with high incidents of CDI infections as per the available scientific data. Overall up to 40% of patients develop diarrhea after admission to the ICU.
