Often we go about our daily routine with comfort till we experience a disruption. It could be a visitor, a chance meeting an important meeting, a job interview, an occasional tiff with a friend, a disagreement with our loved ones or even an illness. And then suddenly a beast pops up in our mind telling us how we have not done something in the past well or how we are ill-equipped to deal with the future or how there is a possibility of things going wrong or even that we are not likely to be understood anyway.

It is our beast of burden which lives somewhere in our mind and makes it a job to tell us a whole lot of untruths about us and demoralises us so that we do exactly the opposite of what we want.
