A 5 years old child was in sudden abdomen pain and later started having gradual distension. Initially treated as Colitis with Metronidazole and Ofloxacin syrup. But child started vomiting and gradual distension. Tlc was 14200 and x-ray showed multiple fluids, ultrasound shows multiple gasless distension and a diagnosis of aperistaltic obstruction made. Two to three surgeons opinion has taken. IV fluids, Arolyte p and/or RL 1350 ml kn 24 hours. Inj.
Cefoperazone and Sulbactam at 50 mg/kg and IV Metronidazole 29 ml 8 per hour. Inj. Pantoprazole 10 mg IV OD. Today is the third day and distension same in, occasional pain. Surgeons suggested conservative management. Please give your valuable advice and suggestion.
