It is evident that hormone concentrations during early fetal development affect the child's development. However, there is very less evidence about the mother’s age, race and weight and its effect on hormone concentrations in pregnancy. In this regard, a recent study published in Maternal and Child Health Journal reported that hormone concentrations during early fetal development were significantly affected by maternal age, body mass index and race instead of a lifestyle. The study was aimed to understand the factors that drive higher sex hormones during fetal development.
