We find that differential service charges for doctors are levied by hospitals based on class of admission of the patients. eg. The professional charges for service rendered in general ward is less than service renddered in sharing room which is less than service rendered in single room and so on, though the professional service remains the same. This happens only in medical field and only in inpatients.Outpatients are clearly divided into paying or charity patients.
While the hospital varies its resource allocation based on types of beds and charges differntly for the same, doctors are no able to vary their inputs for any class and have to work as hard for all types of admission.
