Exosomes, nano-sized extracellular vesicles released by diverse cell types, are emerging as promising therapeutic and diagnostic tools in dermatology owing to their role in intercellular communication, wound healing, anti-scarring, pigmentation regulation, and immune modulation. Unlike conventional therapies, exosome-based approaches offer cell-free yet biologically active treatment avenues, delivering proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids that directly influence skin repair, regeneration, and disease processes. Recent studies highlight their potential applications in chronic inflammatory dermatoses, cutaneous malignancies, and aesthetic dermatology, while advances in exosome engineering further expand their translational prospects.
