A lot has been discussed on various platforms about compression and occlusion Technic to stave off atonic PPH but I would like to shed some more light from the experience I gleaned through a series of 11 patients I tackled.compression and occlusion Technic is nothing but an extension of an age-old concept of acute anteflexion and anteversion of uterus with bimanual compression when uterus is temporarily deficient in contraction with mild atonic PPH. What this really achieves is occlusion of uterine vessels by kinking of the vessel by acute flexion and anteversion of uterus. compression of anterior against the posterior wall of the uterus.
This compression of walls of the uterus is nothing but a means to the same end i.e occlusion of vascular channels or sinuses present in uterine walls. Now let us discuss the surgical Technic to achieve the same-occlusion of vessels. uterine arteries…
