Pterygium is a common ophthalmic disorder presenting as a vascularised conjunctival tissue mostly seen on the nasal aspect however very rarely can be temporal. Its presentation can be benign malignant flesh on fleshy pseudo, true progressive, regressive, vascular pterygia are seen in xeroderma pigmentosum. Pseudo pterygium is a manifestation of VK conjunctivitis.

The difficulties in its surgical management is the recurrence so many surgical modalities have arrived to prevent recurrence. At present excision with autograft and fibrin glue is thought to be the best modality of surgery by many surgeons although there are other surgical modalities like excision with stem cell and amniotic membrane graft and argon laser.
