Investigation has revealed a shocking fact that a homeopathy doctor with no formal training to practice critical care, is handling ICU in a private hospital in Indore. This fact has brought a very serious issue in light. The special investigation team of a news channel conducted a sting operation and recorded videos of these doctors.
One of the homeopathy doctor said that, “I take all the calls during an emergency, the senior doctors are consulted only on the phone afterwards.” While another one said that “I take care of everything in this ICU- open heart surgery, cardiac arrests, trauma, head injuries, hypertension, and diabetes, among others. ” According to the norms, an ICU doctor should be a senior accredited specialist; have a PG in anesthesiology, intensive care or surgery; with 5-7 years of intensive care education and a PG degree approved by the MCI.
