Abstract: Presentation of childhood epilepsy is observed to be in varied ways and may have variety of causes. The diagnosis and planning treatment is a challenge due to the complex nature of the disorder. Hence usually the multiaxial approach is recommended to confirm the diagnosis . Many primary psychiatric disorders such as Psychotic disorders and epileptic disorders (partial epilepsy) present similar symptoms, making it challenging for physicians to confirm the diagnosis and manage the treatment.
We present a case series of 3 cases displaying atypical symptoms of epileptic phenomenon. We base it on detailed history taking, Electroencephalogram findings and psychological assessments. These cases report atypical presentation of epilepsy with episodic audiovisual hallucinations, delusions of paranoia and aggressive behavior which are suggestive of early onset of Psychosis.
