Obesity is a growing pandemic that was initially thought to be a disease of the developed countries. However, it is now increasing rapidly even in the Indian subcontinent. Endocrine and metabolic imbalances often result in obesity and therefore, these patients should be managed by experts who know about both bariatric surgery and endocrinology.
