According to Indian research, living standards in rural regions have greatly improved. Transportation, medical treatment, dietary habits, educational levels, and family income have all improved substantially, which, along with easy access to the city and television viewing, has resulted in unwelcome lifestyle changes. A significant role in the increasing prevalence of obesity and related metabolic disorders such as diabetes was discovered in the changing lifestyle of rural inhabitants. Compared to research done in 1989, there is a significant rise in body mass index (BMI) and abdominal obesity in both sexes.
