Bedside teaching is an essential component of medical education applicable to varied situations wherein teaching is done in the presence of a patient. Despite bedside teaching being a vital tool in medical education, the practice of bedside teaching has declined from 75% of all clinical training in the 1960s to approximately 9% in the current times. The current faculty development programs for the educational processes and realistic expectations may help overcome the problems associated with the declining practice of bedside teaching.
