Doctors in Bengaluru have raised alarms over the rising number of urinary tract infection (UTI) cases among men. They have observed an increase in male patients presenting with symptoms like pain, fever, and frequent urination. One urologist observed that he now treats approximately ten male UTI cases per week, a stark increase from the previous rate of one case per month. He attributed this surge to lifestyle factors, particularly inadequate hydration, along with stress and unhealthy diets, increasing the risk of UTIs in men.
Another urologist pointed to factors such as increased sexual activity and high-risk behaviors as contributing to the rise in male UTI cases in the city.
