Orthokeratology is a recent modality wherein special type of contact lenses called ortho k are used to treat myopia temporarily we know myopia is a very common refractive disorder treated by glasses or different types of contact lenses. However, these ortho k contact lenses are the special type used in mild to moderate myopia in children of 6 to 10 years of age they are put during the night and in the process they called corneal reshaping and correct myopia for 1 to 2 days. Also supposed to regress progress of myopia by 40 percent they are helpful in children who are doing sports these contact lenses are used till child attains lasik age.
