Vernal keratoconjunctivitis popularly known as spring catarrh is primarily a conjunctiva condition defined as bilateral interstitial inflammation of conjunctiva. The patients gets repeated attacks of vernal keratoconjunctivitis with onset of each attack intensity of symptoms are less than the previous attack till a time comes when there is complete regression. However one gets corneal involvement which is not due to conjunctival entity.
It is a separate dystrophic manifestations may present as superficial punctate keratitis epithelial erosions vascularization of cornea superficial and deep dystrophic manifestations. It is like pseudo embryotoxon which mimics true arcus senilis which delayed dystrophic manifestations produces. The changes in cornea even up to degree of keratoconus and keratoglobus, one may get superior limbal trantas, dots cystic, limbal depressions, pseudopterygium…
