Soon, the budget would be tabled in the parliament. The healthcare and the pharmaceutical sector are not expecting much from the Union Budget but they do expect to know how the budget could address the pain points. A few announcements relating to healthcare are expected from the finance minister.
Last year the focus was on Modicare, this year it is expected that the government may offer enhanced allocation for the program and increased tax benefits towards healthcare and preventive checkups. Last year through the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana known as the Ayushaman Bharat Scheme health was a political agenda but this year this project seems to be in danger if the other healthcare spending’s are not boosted.
