A mother was giving an insulin injection to her 5-year-old son. I asked how diabetes was diagnosed, what was presenting symptom?She told about fever not relieving despite, intensive treatment including antibiotics. Blood samples were being taken and we requested for blood sugar test against doctor advice. Blood sugar was 650 mg%.
There was no history of weight loss or any other symptom. What is your opinion about this case? Can it be a symptom of type I diabetes or just an accidental observation?
