In Bihar, liquor ban hit TB diagnosis. Alcohol is required for tests ZN staining and fluorescent staining used in the diagnosis of tuberculosis. For successful running of a campaign of " India versus TB" there is an urgent need to frame guidelines to provide an exemption to labs to ensure proper testing in the diagnosis of tuberculosis especially, in areas where liquor has been banned.
