The USFDA recently approved a combination therapy of tremelimumab and durvalumab for adults suffering from unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The efficacy of the treatment was evaluated in an open-label randomized trial in patients with unresectable HCC who had not received any prior systemic treatment. The efficiency of the treatment was assessed based on comparing the tremelimumab and durvalumab group with the sorafenib group.
Result: Common adverse events include rash, pruritis, musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Recommended dosage Patient weight ≥30 kg — 300 mg IV dose + 1500 mg IV durvalumab on day 1 of the first cycle, followed 1500 mg IV durvalumab every four weeks.
