Infection with low-risk human papillomavirus types 6 and 11 causes a disease characterized by the appearance of warts typically in the pubic, vulvar and anorectal regions but can occur in other areas too. Warts appear like vegetative tumors, with a single implantation base that branches towards the periphery, resembling a cauliflower. Treatments include local, topical, pharmacological, surgical, and excisional therapy. Examples of topical and pharmacological medications are imiquimod, podofilox, and sinecatechins.
