Cardinal features of diabetic foot are; Diabetic Peripheral neuropathy is the major problem leading to foot problems. Patients with type 2 diabetes are more prone to Peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy affects sensory, motor and autonomic nerve fibers leading to deformity and abnormal gait with calluses formation overpressure point on foot. Patients with neuropathy cannot feel discomfort and continue to walk on injured foot resulting in breakdown of skin and chronic ulcer.
