A 62-year old man was treated for urinary infection a week after surgical intervention for nephrolithiasis. He was administered ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice a day. After four days of treatment with antibiotics, the patient started to develop severe numbness in the feet, gradually ascending towards the calves and sensory disturbances in the hands.
