For many years, the medical community has been debating on the ideal treatment for atrial fibrillation (AF), especially who suffer from left ventricular dysfunction, which supplies most of the pumping power. However, no clinical trial has been conducted to support the safety and efficacy of the procedure. In this regard, CASTLE-AF study was designed to compare the efficacy of radio frequency catheter ablation (RCFA)  and conventional therapy and started in 2008.
